The Angel Project...

The Angel Project:
I love Angels, I just think they are very beautiful. So I started a blog, although I am not into "organized religion" it does have a little bit of a religious overtone.

It will dabble some into Angels and what they have meant throughout history, but mostly I wanted to showcase my Angels through photography.

I have a small collection of some very beautiful Angels. Some were given to me and others I have given myself! LOL My newest is a gorgeous angel I picked up at a Goodwill store. She is carved wood with wire wings... she is the first Angel on this new blog!

Some of the photography is from my "sister" Jenifer. I am hoping she'll be a contributer for this blog (lol) we'll see since like me she has at least half a dozen others! HAHA

What is an Angel?

"An angel is a supernatural being found in many religions. In Christianity, Judaism and Islam, they typically act as messengers from God.

They constitute God's heavenly court, sitting in council with him (1 Kings 22:19; Job 1:6, 2:1); hence they are called His "council of the holy ones" (Psalm 89:7, R.V.; A.V.: "assembly of the saints").

They accompany God as his attendants, when he appears to man (Deuteronomy 33:2; Job 38:7).

This conception was developed after the Exile; and in the Book of Zechariah, angels of various shapes are delegated "to walk to and fro through the earth" in order to find out and report what happens (Zechariah 6:7)."

Seraphims:

It is said that the Seraphims surround the throne of God. They sing the "music of the spheres" and regulating the movement of the heavens as it emanates from God.

It is also said that such a bright light emanates from them that nothing, not even other divine beings, can look upon them.

It is said that there are four of them surrounding God's throne, where they burn eternally from love and zeal for God.

*Note: "Music of the Spheres" is an ancient philosphy in which an inaudible harmonic in regards to the proportiona in the movements of the celestial bodies: Sun, Moon, etc.

Cherubims:

The Cherubim or Cherubs reside beyond the throne of God. They are the guardians of light and of the stars. It is believed that, although they are removed from man's plane of reality, the divine light that they filter down from Heaven still touches the lives of living things.

Cherubim are considered the elect beings for the purpose of protection. Cherubim guard the way to the tree of life in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24) and the throne of God (Ezekiel 28:14-16)

Cherubim are said to have perfect knowledge of God, surpassed only by the love of the Seraphim.

Thrones

The Thrones ( Erelim) also known as the Elders, are a class of celestial beings related to the throne of God the Father.

They are living symbols of God's justice and authority. The closest of all Angels to spiritual perfection, they emanate the light of God with mirror-like goodness.

They, despite their greatness, are intensely humble, an attribute that allows them to dispense justice with perfect objectivity and without fear of pride or ambition.

*The Hierarchy of Elohim astrologically associated to Virgo, they inhabit (Rosicrucian Cosmology) the World of Divine Spirit, which is the home of The Father.

Dominations:

The Dominions (Dominations) hold the task of regulating the duties of lower angels. It is only with extreme rarity that the angelic lords make themselves physically known to mortals.

Instead, they quietly concern themselves with the details of existence. They are also the angels who preside over nations.

The Dominions are believed to look like divinely beautiful humans with a pair of feathered wings, much like the common representation of Angels, but they are physically characterized from other groups as wielding orbs of light fastened to the heads of their sceptres or on the pommel of their swords.

*Associated with Libra, they inhabit (Rosicrucian cosmology) the World of Life Spirit, which is the home of Christ, The Son.
